The Three Sisters

July 28, 2009
by annesailer

Native American growing practices included planting “The Three Sisters” together in a garden — corn, squash and beans — to yield a healthy diet for the growers and long-term soil health for the garden. This is the first year that my co-creative garden has included all three, and they certainly are among the healthiest crops I’ve got this year. Here’s a visual tribute to the “sisters” living in my garden.
